Mulligan and Naples: St. John's Univ. Duo Return For PDL 2012 Season
Returning to the Long Island Rough Riders are two talented St. John’s players who know how to win: James Mulligan and Alexander Naples.
James Mulligan, in high school, Mulligan was a Two-Time Team MVP, earning All-State and NSCAA/adidas All-Region honors ,plus Two-Time All-County honoree. As a Redshirt freshman, Mulligan appeared in 18 games, including five starts, with a total of one goal and two assists for a total of four points ... made first-career BIG EAST start at then-No. 6 Louisville, made BIG EAST debut off the bench at Notre Dame, tallied first-career goal and added an assist in a 5-0 win against LIU. Mulligan made his first-career start and tallied his first-career point with an assist in collegiate-debut. Mulligan signed with the Rough Riders in 2011, playing in 11 games, and will be returning for his second season.
Alexander Naples, at St. Anthony’s, Naples earned All-State and All-League Honors, helping his team win both state and league championships in 2008. As a freshman at St. John’s, Naples, who is a goalkeeper, played in three games, totaling 51:55 of action, posted a 1.73 goals against average, entering the final 12:28 to combine on a 5-0 shutout against LIU. As a goalkeeper for the Rough Rider in 2011, Naples played in 8 games, with 1.000 goals against average, 720 minutes, 5 wins, 3 shutouts and 33 saves. Naples returns to the Rough Riders for the 2012 Season.
