Men's Team History

footerThe Long Island Rough Riders have established themselves as one of North America’s premier soccer franchises. Over a span of 20 years, the Rough Riders have won four National Championships playing in the United Soccer Leagues, the largest organization of elite-level soccer leagues in North America.

The Rough Riders Men’s Team has featured many star athletes over the years. Players including former U.S National Team members Chris Armas and Tony Meola, and MLS All-Stars Giovanni Savarese, Steve Jolley, and Jimmy Rooney. Not to mention Wilmer Cabrera, former Colombian National Team member who made appearances in two World Cups, and numerous other players that have played in the MLS, as well as internationally.

Women's Team History

The Rough Riders Women’s Team has featured many great stars. The franchise has seen players such as Kim Wyant and Sarah Whalen play for the Women’s U.S National Team, and Emma Hayes who now coaches the Chelsea Ladies. Sue Weber, former professional player in the Women’s Professional Soccer League and Grace Hawkins United Soccer League Player of the Year in 2012, have also been part of the organization. More recently, both Crystal Dunn and Kim DeCesare were selected 1st and 34th overall in the 2014 National Women’s Soccer League draft.
