Congratulations to Rough Rider, Joe Holland on a string of impressive performances for Hofstra University which has led to him being named the first Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week for the 2015 season.
Holland scored three goals in the opening two victories for Hofstra University whilst also contributing in the build up to of the other goals in the 4-1 victory against Vermont University. His 61st-minute penalty kick goal opened the scoring in Hofstra’s 2-1 win over No. 15 Syracuse on Friday and he scored two goals in the second half in the Hofstra Pride’s 4-0 victory over Vermont on Sunday.
In two games, Holland notched seven points and scored three goals on his four on-target shot attempts. The strong start comes after a 2014 season in which he earned All-CAA First-Team honors.
Holland has been registered as a member of the Rough Riders Men’s team for two seasons now and had an impressive 2015 season, playing 12 times and also scoring 5 goals from an advanced midfield position.
Holland will next be in action for Hofstra against Army West Point in a road game on Friday at 12:30 p.m.
