Manning announced as Toronto FC president

Back in 1996/97 Bill Manning was GM of the Long Island Rough Riders, on Monday, October 12, 2015, the two-time MLS Executive of the Year was announced the new club president of Toronto FC. Manning, 50, will oversee all team and business operations.

The Massapequa, New York native played professionally himself in the United Soccer League from 1991 to 1995.

In his 22 years in sports management, Manning has included executive positions with the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles, and spent eight seasons as president at the MLS’ Real Salt Lake, winning MLS Cup and Eastern Conference titles in 2009, before parting ways this August.
