The Long Island Rough Riders, exclusive USL League Two affiliate of New York City FC, extended their unbeaten run to seven with a 2-0 win against Evergreen FC on June 29 at Evergreen Sportsplex in Leesburg, Va.

Manuel Ferriol and Matt Sloan found the back of the net for Long Island, which improves to 5-1-4 (19 points) with the win. Evergreen FC remains winless at 0-8-3 (3 points) with the defeat.

Ferriol scored his third goal of the season on an assist from Sean Zawadzki, while Eddie Speed’s assist lead to Sloan’s team-leading fifth of the campaign.

Josh Levine made five saves to preserve the shutout. The Penn State University redshirt junior has conceded just four goals in eight games between the sticks this season.

The Rough Riders return to action against local rivals New York Red Bulls Under-23 on Tuesday, July 2. Kickoff is 7 p.m. from Red Bulls Training Facility in Whippany, N.J.
