The rising senior at Georgetown University was one of 20 defenders on the 100-player list compiled by league staff.
Nealis, whose brothers Sean and Jimmy also played for the Rough Riders, was an integral part in Georgetown’s second consecutive Big East championship in 2018 as the Hoyas (13-5-3) advanced to the third round of the NCAA Tournament.
“He’s a fantastic right back who showed his ability this year to create goals going forward as well as being a superb 1-v-1 defender,” Rough Riders head coach Stephen Roche said. “He’s a future MLS draft pick like his two older brothers.”
The USL League Two 2019 Players to Watch is comprised of 20 defenders, 33 forwards, nine goalkeepers and 38 midfielders all born in 1996 or later.
The Rough Riders, exclusive USL League Two affiliate of New York City FC, begin their 2019 campaign against league newcomers Cedar Stars Rush on Saturday, May 11. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m. from Hofstra University Soccer Stadium.
