Apr 2021

UNIONDALE N.Y. – (Tuesday, April 13, 2021) – The Long Island Lady Rough Riders are pleased to announce that Thomas Paris will join the coaching staff as assistant coach for the upcoming 2021 United Women’s Soccer season.

“We are very excited that Tom is joining us to support the Lady Rough Riders for the 2021 season.” Sporting Director Shannon Neely Noel said. “His playing experience from youth to college soccer has contributed heavily to his teams’ and players’ successes.”

A native from Ocala, Florida who holds a U.S. Soccer “C” coaching license joined Molloy College as an assistant coach in 2019 helping the Lions to an East Coast Conference title while reaching the NCAA regional final.

“Having worked with Tom at Molloy I am thrilled that the franchise is bringing him in as one of my assistant coaches,” said Steve Price, Lady Rough Riders Head Coach. “Tom is a natural leader who connects well with players. He is a great addition to our coaching staff.”

Paris continues his education at Molloy College, working towards a master’s in education while coaching with various local youth soccer clubs, including the former New York Cosmos Academy team which played in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy league in 2019.

“It’s great to be selected to the Lady Rough Riders coaching staff and to work alongside Coach Price,” Paris said. “I look forward to being part of the franchise’s rich history and helping achieve the team’s goals to challenge for a national championship this season.”

Paris played at St. Catharine College in Kentucky where he was named honorable mention in the Mid-South Conference, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management in 2013.  In 2012, Paris played for his hometown team, the Ocala Stampede, helping secure the southeast region’s first place title in the United Soccer Leagues, currently known as USL League Two.

The Rough Riders open their 2021 UWS campaign against NJ Copa FC on Saturday, May 22nd at 6:00 pm.
