The Rough Riders beat their local rivals Westchester Flames 2 – 1 Wednesday night at City Park in New Rochelle. The win moves the Rough Riders up to a second place tie with the Western Mass Pioneers in the Northeast Division. Arthur Bedoya opened the scoring in the first half, heading in a well-timed cross from Danny Bedoya. Westchester equalized 10 minutes before the end of the first half. The Rough Riders came out determined to take the lead back in the 2nd half and did so from a curling free kick from Danny Bedoya. The Rough Riders looked to pad their lead outshooting Westchester 19-9 but were unable to find the back the net again. The Rough Riders look to continue their winning ways when they take on AC Connecticut Saturday night at Cy Donnelly Stadium on the campus of St. Anthony’s High School at 7:30 PM.
