The USL League Two match between the Long Island Rough Riders and Reading United AC on June 5 has been postponed due to inclement weather.
The match is rescheduled for Sunday, June 9. Kickoff is 5:30 p.m. from Hofstra University Soccer Stadium.
Long Island, exclusive USL League Two affiliate of New York City FC, comes into the match after earning four points from back-to-back contests this past weekend. The Rough Riders (3-1-1; 10 points) defeated New York Red Bulls Under-23 2-1 on Saturday and drew 2-2 with FA Euro New York on Sunday in a weather-shortened contest.
Reading United AC, the 2018 national runner-up, is flawless at 4-0-0 and currently atop the Eastern Conference Mid Atlantic Division standings with 12 points.
“It’s a massive game against the team who last year I believed were the best in the country and have obviously had a great start again this year,” Rough Riders head coach Stephen Roche said. “It’s too early to be looking at league tables but a result will prove to everyone, most importantly ourselves, what we are capable of doing this season.”
