Plainview, NY – The Long Island Rough Riders are heading into their 21st season as Long Island’s hometown soccer franchise. Both the men and the women will open their season with a home game. The men will kick off the season on Saturday, May 9 against the Westchester Flames at 7:30pm at St. Anthony’s High School in South Huntington. The Women will start their campaign against the New York Magic at 5:00pm as part of a double header with the men’s team on Saturday, May 16 at MacArthur High School in Levittown. The men will be taking on the 2014 Eastern Conference Champions Jersey Express at 7:30pm.
“The Rough Riders are looking forward to exciting season with both the men’s and women’s teams competing to get into the post season,” said Rough Riders General Manager Flavio Ferri. “We are anxious to provide a winning and entertaining brand of soccer to our loyal fans”
This upcoming season, the Rough Riders Men will play in the ten-team Mid Atlantic Division of the PDL, widely considered the toughest in the league. The Women’s team will continue to play in the Eastern Conference of the W-League.
