Plainview – The Long Island Rough Riders are looking forward to welcome 3 teams on their field this weekend. The Rough Riders women will be playing the Laval Comets and Quebec Dynamo ARSQ, who are both traveling from Canada, while the men will be playing Real Boston.
The Rough Riders women will start off the fun against Laval at 5:00pm as part of a double header with the men’s team on Saturday, June 13 at CY Donnelly Stadium on the campus of St. Anthony’s High School in South Huntington, NY. The men will be taking on Real Boston at 7:30pm.
The Laval Comets are currently 3rd with 6 points in the 2015 W-League Northeastern Conference having played 4 games so far. The Long Island Rough Riders women are currently 2nd in the Northeastern Conference with 9 points after 3 consecutive wins out of 3 games played.
“It is always exciting to play international games,” said Rough Riders general Manager and Assistant Coach Flavio Ferri. “In addition the Laval, Quebec and the Rough Riders are all fighting for the top spot in the division.”
Real Boston is currently 5th in the 2015 PDL Northeast Division with 1 point and 3 games into the season. The Long Island Rough Riders men are currently 3rd in the 2015 PDL Mid Atlantic Division with 10 points out of 6 games.
The Rough Riders men are looking to continue their positive trend and earn valuable points to stay in one of the top spots of the Mid Atlantic Division’s Standings.
“We are looking forward to matching up against a team from another division,” Flavio Ferri added. “After a tough win on the road, we are determined to get the 3 points at home to stay in the playoff race.”
The Rough Riders women will resume W-League competition just one day later on Sunday, June 14th at 3.00PM against Quebec Dynamo ARSQ who is currently on top of the 2015 W-League Northeastern Conference. Quebec won 3 out of 4 games and tied one. The game will be held at CY Donnelly Stadium on the campus of St. Anthony’s High School in South Huntington, NY.
The Rough Riders women are going into the game with immense expectations, looking to continue their good start to the season and taking home 3 important points to get on top of the Northeastern Conference.
