UNIONDALE, N.Y. – (Tuesday, May 4, 2021) – The Long Island Rough Riders women’s team is pleased to announce the return of Amanda Buck, Alexa Schneider, and Sage Dieterle for the upcoming 2021 United Women’s Soccer season.
Buck, the Rough Riders 2019 Women’s Player of the Year, returns to the Rough Riders after logging a team-high 810 minutes during the pre-pandemic season. Prior to the Rough Riders, she played in 48 games at Wagner College, starting in 38 of them.
“Amanda was our 2019 player of the year and was a tremendous asset to the team.” Rough Riders Head Coach Steve Price Said. “We are thrilled that she is returning for the 2021 season and can’t wait to get to work.”
Alexa Schneider, a four-year starter for the University of Albany, re-signs with the Rough Riders after playing for the team since 2017. She ranked second on the team in total minutes has been an integral part of the midfield the last few years.
“Alexa is a versatile player with a proven track record of success on the field.” Said Sporting Director Shannon Neely Noel. “She has been a major contributor for us the last few years and we are excited to see what she can do this year.”
Dieterle, a graduate of Adelphi University, played for the Rough Riders during the 2019 season. At Adelphi, she played in 28 games, scoring 2 goals, and earned an assist during her senior year campaign.
“Sage is a great athlete and all-around team player.” Neely Noel said. “She played for us in 2019 and is a hardworking talent that will provide depth on our roster.”
The Rough Riders open their 2021 UWS campaign against the Brooklyn City FC on Saturday, May 22nd at 5:30 pm.
