Very successful week for Rough Riders women

It’s been an outstanding week of achievements for 4 of our Rough Rider women playing for their university teams:

• After stopping 20 out of 21 shots in two games for Stony Brook, Junior goalkeeper Emily Doherty (Oceanside, N.Y. native) was named the American East Player of the Week. She made the most saves than any other Stony Brook goalkeeper in 17 years.

Diana Poulin (St. John’s University) has been named the Big East Goalkeeper of the Week for the second time during this season already.

• Defender Georgia Kearney-Perry (St.John’s) was awarded a spot on the Big East Weekly Honor Roll by the conference.

Taylor Elliott (RR player for the last two seasons) made Offensive Player of the Week for the SCC conference after scoring a goal and having an assist in Vanderbilt University’s victory over South Carolina last week.
