Plainview, New York – In light of the United Soccer Leagues announcement to suspend the W-League for the 2016 season the Long Island Rough Riders, one of the longest serving women’s soccer franchise in North America, remains committed to the advancement and promotion of women’s soccer.
The Rough Riders, in collaboration with other prominent women’s organizations, are considering the best competitive platform in order to continue providing opportunities for elite adult female players.
“We are confident in the direction of women’s soccer”, said Peter Zaratin, President of the Long Island Rough Riders. “We will determine the best league platform in the near future that supports and shares our long-standing endeavors to grow women’s soccer throughout the U.S. and Canada.”
