Individuals who are chosen for a Pre-Academy team become a part of an elite player community representing all of Long Island. Rough Riders Pre-Academy teams participate in local, regional, and national competitions and receive professional training on a year-round basis.
Pre-Academy teams will compete in various youth leagues and tournaments across Long Island throughout the year. This is to supplement the team’s overall development and ability to perform in a competitive environment.
The main goal of the Pre-Academy teams is to transfer the hard work from annual intense training to competition success. Success for many relates to victories. The Rough Riders however, measure success in long-term player and team development.
As an affiliate club of Long Island SC, a member of the United States Development Academy, the Pre-Academy offers a clear pathway to the highest level of youth soccer on Long Island for both male and female players.
Players who are at a competitive level following their time in the Pre-Academy program will be invited to trial with Long Island SC (U10-U19).
