Samantha Goldberg

Samantha Goldberg, a 5-8 midfielder, had an outstanding career at Syosset H.S. She was an all-Nassau County selection in 2023, after receiving honorable mention honors the previous year. Woodbury, N.Y. resident also earned the Connie Kulik Award winner, present to the most outstanding senior athlete at the school. She also was invited to the Girls Academy Northeast Talent ID Clinic.

She also was an accomplished in flag football (All-County team in 2024), track and field (four-time All-County team) and cross country (three-time All-county selection).

Goldberg is majoring in elementary education.

In 2025, Long Island captured the USL W League Metropolitan Division crown and qualified for the playoffs with a 7-3-0 mark.

Micala Boex

Boex, a forward from Aurora, Colorado, will play her first season with the Long Island Rough Riders in 2026. She competes collegiately at Northern Arizona University and previously played for Real Colorado.

Boex is coming off an outstanding junior season in 2025 at Northern Arizona, where she was named the Big Sky Co-Offensive MVP and earned Second Team All-Conference honors. She appeared in and started every match, totaling eight goals and six assists for 22 points, becoming the program’s first 20-point scorer since 2021. She also recorded eight multi-point games and was named Big Sky Offensive Player of the Week twice.

As a sophomore in 2024, Boex appeared in all 17 matches while making eight starts. She scored three goals and finished near the top of the team in points while posting a .444 shots on goal percentage.

Boex is majoring in public health.

The Rough Riders women open their 2026 campaign with four consecutive road games. They play at Manhattan SC (May 20), Morris Elite SC (May 23), NJ Copa FC (May 30) and Cedar Stars (June 4) before welcoming Morris Elite SC for their home opener at Mitchel Athletic Complex in Uniondale, N.Y. on June 7.
