Rough Riders Sign Local Standouts to 2025 Roster

The Long Island Rough Riders are staying true to their roots, adding four standout local talents to the 2025 squad. Hailing from Bethpage, Brooklyn, Queens, and beyond, Tyler Morck, Miguel Diaz, Dino Feratovic, and Kelvin Da Costa bring a mix of collegiate success and academy pedigree as they prepare to represent their home turf at the next level.

Tyler Morck

Morck, who hails from Bethpage, N.Y., transferred from St. John’s University to the University of Akron. The 5-8, 150-lb. redshirt sophomore recorded four goals and two assists in 10 starts over 17 matches in 2024.

As a freshman, the midfielder was named to the Big East All-Tournament team. Morck layed or the New York City FC Youth Academy and for NYCFC II.

Miguel Diaz

A Brooklyn, N.Y. resident who was born in Lima, Peru, the 5-9, 145-lb. Diaz has registered five goals and 15 assists in his first three seasons at St. John’s. In 2023, the forward assisted on nine goals and scored one himself. Last season, he tallied four goals and four assists.

As a junior, Diaz helped Franklin K. Lane High School to the PSAL B Queens South championship game. Diaz also played for the New York Red Bulls Academy Under-18 and U-19 teams as well as the B.W. Gottschee U-16 and U-17 squads

Dino Feratovic

Feratovic, who calls Queens, N.Y. home, is finishing his junior year. A defender, the 6-3, 175-lb. Feratovic scored two goals and added an assist in 12 starts over 14 contests for Iona University last fall.

A Queens, N.Y. all-star, Feratovic helped Forest Hills High School captured the 2019 New York state championship. The 6-3, 175-lb. defender was a team captain in school and for Barca Academy Pro New York.

Kelvin Da Costa

As a freshman at Syracuse University, Da Costa played in 19 games while starting 13 of them. The Maputo, Mozambique, native helped Woodstock Academy to an unbeaten season while also performing for the NYC FC U-17 team. The 5-10, 158-lb. midfielder was named a United Soccer Coaches All-American in 2023.

He also was named All-New England and Prep Player of the Year in his final season at Woodstock.

The Rough Riders’ men’s team will kick off their 2025 USL League Two season against Ironbound FC on Sunday, May 18, at 6 p.m. at the Mitchel Athletic Complex in Uniondale, N.Y. This match is part of a doubleheader, with the Rough Riders women’s team playing against AC Connecticut at 3:30 p.m. Don’t miss the opportunity to see these new signings in action.
