LONG ISLAND, NY — March 17, 2026 — The Long Island Rough Riders were proud to take part in the Bay Shore–Brightwaters St. Patrick’s Day Parade 2026 on Saturday afternoon, joining thousands of community members celebrating Irish heritage and local pride in Bay Shore, New York.

Representing the club in the parade were fan-favorite mascot Teddy Roosevelt, newly re-signed 2026 season player Elijah Sawyers, and members of the Rough Riders staff, who greeted families and supporters along the route.

Rough Riders St Patricks Day Parade

The parade began at Saxon Avenue, traveling west along Main Street, before concluding near St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church. One of Long Island’s largest family-friendly St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, the event featured community floats, marching bands, local organizations, and performances that highlight the region’s strong community spirit.

The 2026 parade was led by Grand Marshal Denise Gibson, recognizing her contributions to the local community.

Sawyers’ appearance at the parade also marked his return to the Rough Riders for the upcoming 2026 season, as the club continues building its roster ahead of the summer campaign.

Participation in events like the Bay Shore–Brightwaters parade is part of the Rough Riders’ continued commitment to community engagement across Long Island. As preparations for the 2026 season continue, the club looks forward to connecting with fans at events throughout the region in the months ahead.
