UNIONDALE, N.Y. –

The Women’s Rough Riders organization is excited to announce our MVP and Young Player of the year for the 2021 season.

Most Valuable Player: Kimberly Marra

Team captain Marra saw action in 10 games for a total of 855 minutes. Former player at Iona College, Marra has been a valuable member of the team since 2017.

“One the field Kim is very athletic and gets around the field,” said head coach Steve Pierce. “She reads the game extremely well, has pace, and  as our team captain, leads by example”

Marra finished the season with one assist and was crucial in the midfield.

“Off the field she helps organize the players, is always positive and has the respect of her coaches and peers,” said Pierce.

Young Player of the Year: Elizabeth Cruz

Cruz collected 264 minutes in eight games in her first season as a Rough Rider. In the midfield, she dominates and works hard both with and without the ball.

Additionally, Cruz is a current member of the George Washington University Women’s Soccer team where she started in three of the ten games she played in the 2021 season.

“New to the team, Lizzy has shown tremendous energy, a willingness to learn and always gives 100%,” said Pierce. “She is fast and can play multiple positions. She has been a great addition to our roster.”

The Rough Riders finished their season with a 3-3-4 record and are on the track of success as they enter their off season.
