UNIONDALE, N.Y. – (Sunday, March 6, 2022) –
The Long Island Rough Riders are pleased to announce the re-signing of Kimberly Marra for the 2022 USL W League season.
“I’ve heard only great things about Kim as a player and person,” said Head Coach Kelsey Hauser. “I’m excited about how she will lead our team and inspire her teammates to do as she wants to – play at a high level for as long as possible.”
The Iona alumna returns to the Rough Riders for her fourth consecutive year. Marra has had a consistent presence on the field each year and served as captain for the 2021 season.
“Kim was the first person I called when taking the roll as the Sporting Director,” said Tom Paris. “She is a great player and an even better leader. I look forward to working with her again this season.”
Additionally, Marra was voted team M.V.P for the 2021 season. She started in all 10 games collecting one assist and totaled of 855 minutes on the field. Previous Head Coach Steve Price noted “she reads the game extremely well, plays with pace and as our team captain leads by example.”
The Rough Riders are thrilled to welcome back Marra for the USL W League’s inaugural season. You can get tickets and game day packages for their May 22 home opener and following home games here.
