Matt Lannon Transitions to USL W League Head Coach.

Uniondale, NY, June 29, 2022 — The Long Island Rough Riders are excited to announce Matt Lannon as the USL W League Head Coach for the remainder of the women’s 2022 season.

Coach Hauser will step down at this time ahead of her expecting her first child.

“We can’t thank Kelsey enough for her leadership, dedication and hard work this season,” said Assistant General Manager Tanner Sands. “We look forward to Matt stepping into this new role and are confident of a seamless transition along with making continued improvement to the team.”

Lannon has been serving as Assistant Coach throughout the season, helping to contribute to the women’s 5 -2 -1 record. The team currently is fourth in the Metropolitan Division coming off a 3-0 win over AC Connecticut.

“I am extremely excited to move into the role as Head Coach,” said Lannon. “Kelsey has done an outstanding job in leading the team, and I plan to pick up right where she left off. We have a great group, and we have our sights set on clinching play offs.”

Additionally, Lannon serves at the Club’s Technical Director, overseeing the USL Super Y League Program.
