Men’s College Check In

Written by Michael Lewis

Ryan Carmichael, one of the key performers of the Long Island Rough Riders’ run to the USL League Two final, continued to move up the Hofstra University career scoring list during the 2022 men’s soccer fall season.

Carmichael, who was named the 2022 Rough Riders offensive player of the year, converted a 19-yard free kick in the 67th minute of the Pride’s 1-1 draw at No. 24 University of Virginia on Oct. 18. Hofstra, which competes in the Colonial Athletic Association, is 9-3-2.

That score gave the 5-11, 145-lb. Carmichael eight goals in 14 games for the season and 27 for his career. It also moved him into a tie for eighth place on the Hofstra career goals list with Fabio Berlingieri (1984-87). Carmichael also has 65 career points to tie All-American Joe Holland (2012-16) for 10th on the points list.
