The Long Island Rough Riders are proud to celebrate Kayleigh Goodrich after she was crowned the 2026 USL W League Golden Boot winner, finishing the regular season as the league’s leading scorer with an outstanding 17 goals.

Goodrich played a pivotal role in another successful campaign for the Rough Riders, helping the club secure its fourth USL W League Playoff appearance. Starting every match and playing all 900 regular season minutes, she consistently led the line with energy, determination, and an eye for goal.

Her 17 goals accounted for almost 30% of Long Island’s 62 regular season goals, underlining the impact she had throughout the season. Along the way, Goodrich recorded five multi-goal performances, including five braces and two hat tricks, establishing herself as one of the most clinical forwards in the league.

Head Coach Gerry Lucey praised the Adelphi University standout for the influence she has had on the team both on and off the field.

“Kayleigh has set the standards for the Rough Riders this year in both training and matches,” said Lucey. “Her relentless pursuit of improvement is fantastic to watch as a coach and has had a positive influence throughout the squad. She’s a complete player who is equally comfortable with either foot and works just as hard defensively as she does in attack. It’s been a pleasure coaching her this season, and I look forward to seeing where her career takes her.”

Club Director Adam Allaway also reflected on Goodrich’s achievement and what it represents for the club.

“Winning the Golden Boot is an incredible accomplishment and one that Kayleigh thoroughly deserves,” said Allaway. “She has been a consistent performer from the first game of the season, leading by example with her professionalism, work ethic, and desire to improve every single day. Goals naturally grab the headlines, but what makes Kayleigh so valuable is everything she brings to the team away from the scoresheet. She embodies the standards we want our players to set, and we’re extremely proud to see her recognized as the league’s top goalscorer.”

Everyone at the Long Island Rough Riders congratulates Kayleigh on a remarkable season and this well-deserved individual honor. We look forward to watching her continue to grow and build on an outstanding 2026 campaign.
