Madison, N.J. – The Long Island Rough Riders traveled to FC Motown’s field, dropping the game 4-2 eliminating them from playoff contention.

The Rough Riders had a slim chance to make it to the playoffs entering the game Friday. They would need a win and Ironbound SC to lose against Manhattan SC the next day on Saturday. Unfortunately, neither result ended up happening.

In the game, the Rough Riders started on the right path with a goal in the 21st minute, scored by defender Josh Gordon. FC Motown would equalize in the last five minutes of the first half, with forward Giacomo Zizza getting a goal in the 40th minute.

FC Motown would get a go-ahead goal in the 60th minute from forward Julien Lacher. The Rough Riders would get a equalizer of their own in 72nd minute with forward Finaly Oliver scoring, 2-2.

Unfortunately, the bottom would fall out for the Rough Riders in the last ten minutes of the game with FC Motown scoring two goals and the Rough Riders getting a red card. Andrew Armstrong and Akira Bofinger both scored for FC Motown giving the final score 4-2.

The Rough Riders’ League 2 season comes to an end in third place, just outside a playoff spot.
