Club to compete in the W League’s inaugural 2022 season

The United Soccer League (USL) today announced Long Island Rough Riders as the latest club to join the USL W League. The Long Island-based club will compete in the league’s 2022 inaugural season.

Long Island Rough Riders has been operating successfully on Long Island since 1994. The club is currently home to over 1,200 players and maintains many travel teams that have won numerous state titles as well as holding titles regionally and nationally. Recent successes include a USYS Regional Championship for their ’02 girls in 2019 and a USYS Regional Final appearance for their ‘04 Girls in 2021.

The Mission of the Long Island Rough Riders is to passionately develop players, educate them in sport and life and provide leadership while instilling the love of the game. The club takes pride in developing quality players that have been recognized throughout the country, as current alumni are now playing throughout at NCAA Division I, II, III programs. Over the last four years, the club has had over 45 players commit to play at the collegiate levels.
