LONG ISLAND, NY — March 16, 2026 — The Long Island Rough Riders were proud to participate in the Long Island Summer Camp Expo this past weekend at the Cradle of Aviation Museum, spending the day engaging with families from across Long Island as they explored summer camp opportunities for their children.
Throughout the expo, the Rough Riders welcomed parents and young athletes to their booth, sharing details about the club’s wide range of summer camps, clinics, and development programs. Staff spoke with families about opportunities for players of all experience levels—from beginners discovering the game for the first time to more advanced players looking to continue their development over the summer months.
A highlight of the day was the appearance of the Rough Riders’ fan-favorite mascot, Teddy Roosevelt, who brought energy and excitement to the expo floor. Teddy greeted families, posed for photos with young fans, and drew attention to the Rough Riders booth as children and parents stopped by to learn more about the club’s programs.
The expo offered a valuable opportunity for the organization to meet families face-to-face and introduce new players to the Rough Riders community. Community Director Cameron Marshall shared, “What a great way to see familiar faces and connect with new players as we build excitement ahead of the World Cup here in the U.S., while getting more people involved in the game we all love.” For some families, it was their first time learning about the club’s programming, while others stopped by to reconnect after attending past camps, clinics, or matches.
In addition to highlighting upcoming summer camps, the Rough Riders also showcased their broader youth development pathway, which includes year-round programming designed to help players continue growing within the game. The club’s presence at community events like the Long Island Summer Camp Expo reflects its ongoing commitment to making soccer accessible, engaging, and enjoyable for young players throughout the region.
Events such as the expo allow the Rough Riders to strengthen relationships within the community while continuing to grow the game across Long Island. As summer approaches, the club looks forward to welcoming many of the families they met at the event onto the field for an exciting season of soccer programming.
